Look at Me…Look at Me….!

It was a great honour to be asked to makeover the team race bikes of Canberra NRS team “Phoenix Cycling Collective” for the 2015 season.

After a fantastic debut year in 2014, they gained a great deal of respect within the peleton after some really strong stage results and quite a bit of TV time to boot.

With the 2015 season looming, the brief was to take their fleet of Avanti Corsa SLs and DRs and make them pop!  With their understated graphics and mostly matt black finish it was essentially a blank canvas.

First step was a rough up to flatten and/or remove the graphics…

While fluro’s and wild graphics attract plenty of attention, it’s hard to beat the old skool wow of a 2 layer candy under a deep clear finish. So down goes some bright silver base coat…

…and on went the sponsors logos and some very subtle striping on the forks

…and some sneaky self promotion!

When it comes to candy colours, you are pretty much limited by your own imagination but for these PNX bikes it was a no-brainer.  Rich emerald green to match their already distinctive jerseys

A quick polish…and then out into the sun for some fwwwwoaaaaar!

Safe riding boys for 2015…and get into some breaks please because I told my young boys that we might see these on the telly!
